The land we farm on today has been owned by our family since it was purchased in 1933 by William Carnell. Since then 4 generations of Carnells have been farming on it. Initially it was used to farm sugar beet cereals and potatoes as well as some livestock. In 1997 following the success of selling eggs, asparagus and potatoes from the door we opened our shop. The shop mainly catered for the local hotels and green grocers and a small amount of PYO. We soon expanded to Strawberries, Raspberries, Gooseberries, Blackberries, Carrots, New Potatoes, Redcurrants, Blackcurrants and Whitecurrants. In 2013 S & J Carnell decided to expand the PYO section but still offer their services to local companies are always happy to take any new orders.
All of our fruit is grown on site and is picked fresh daily to offer you the best possible eating experience.
